Arsenal's next transfer confirmed as Mikel Arteta set to finally replace £25m star
Arsenal have still yet to replace Aaron Ramsdale five months - and a whole winter transfer window - after selling the goalkeeper to Southampton last summer.
The Gunners received an initial £18million from the Saints and are due another £1million should they - somehow - avoid relegation to the Championship this season. That is one of the more unachievable add-ons, with the others meaning the deal could rise to £25million in total.
After eventually allowing Ramsdale to leave on transfer deadline day, Arsenal signed Neto on a season-long loan from Bournemouth. However, the goalkeeper has barely played, and increasingly appears unlikely to stay beyond that deal.

Here, we take a look at the latest news, views and headlines surrounding Arsenal;
Arsenal 'confident' on deal
Arsenal are, reportedly, confident of finally signing Joan Garcia this summer. Football Insider reckons that they now expect to agree a deal for the Espanyol goalkeeper.
football.london says: It is hard to argue signing Neto over Garcia last summer has backfired as David Raya has remained ever-present in the Premier League. However, the club's undisputed number one needs competition - and cover - again and may be especially receptive if it comes from a fellow compatriot.
Garcia is not simply back-up, either. No goalkeeper has made more saves than him in La Liga this season - and by some margin - so he may well appreciate playing behind a better defence.
Celtic confirm Tierney move
As a public limited company, Celtic released their interim report for the final six months of last year. It includes a chairman's statement from Peter Lawwell, in which he surmises their winter transfer window, buried in the fifth paragraph; it reads: "[we] entered into a pre-contract agreement that will see Kieran Tierney return to Celtic in July 2025."
football.london says: An interim report is a strange way to confirm an impending signing, but Tierney re-joining Celtic is far from a secret. An exit has seemed inevitable for several seasons, and a return north of the border has always appeared the player's preference.
