Aston Villa agree fee for first signing of January transfer window
Aston Villa have agreed a fee for Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen as they close in on their first signing of the January transfer window.
Malen’s move to Villa Park has been well-publicised for the last couple of weeks, with the Dutch winger said to have agreed personal terms a while ago.
However, haggling over the fee proved to be the final stage – one that has now been achieved with reports ranging from £18-20m for the 25-year-old.

Reports emerged in Germany this morning saying that the player's 'bags are packed' and that the fee was the only outstanding element of the transfer.
Villa are looking to bolster their options in attack, with Malen able to play in pretty much any forward position, a priority not only given the departure of Moussa Diaby in the summer but also Jaden Philogene’s imminent transfer to Ipswich Town.
Malen spent time in the youth set-ups at Ajax and Arsenal before making his breakthrough at PSV Eindhoven. He moved to Dortmund in 2021 and has consolidated himself as one of the most important options in their squad.
