Aston Villa faced with fresh transfer decision as clubs eye loan move
Aston Villa could face a fresh decision in the January transfer window with reports linking the versatile Lamare Bogarde with a loan move away from the club before the deadline on the 3rd of February. Bogarde has broken onto the first-team scene at Villa this season, having spent two separate loan spells, spanning 12 months, at Bristol Rovers.
The young Dutchman joined Villa from Feyenoord in 2020 as owners NSWE began to cast their nets far and wide around Europe in order to strengthen their academy. Since, Bogarde helped Villa's under 18s to win the FA Youth Cup in 2021 having earlier that season made his senior debut in the FA Cup against Liverpool.
Bogarde, who has turned 21 this month, signed a new long-term contract with Villa in August of last year, amid speculation that he was of interest to Premier League and Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest. In the time since, he has broken into the first-team environment with increasing regularity.

Bogarde has started in the Premier League wins over Leicester City and Everton this season, as well as the victory over Young Boys in the Champions League and the draw with Crystal Palace. Most recently, Bogarde featured off the bench as a first half replacement for the stricken Amadou Onana in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Arsenal.
Swansea City have emerged as potential suitors this month as they look for defensive cover in the form of a loan, while Fabrizio Romano adds that Bundesliga side Hoffenheim could also explore a deal, although with Villa allowing Diego Carlos to leave the club this month it's likely that Unai Emery won't be in a rush lose Bogarde, even on a temporary basis.
