Aston Villa injury blow confirmed as Unai Emery gives team news update ahead of Wolves clash
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has confirmed Matty Cash will be sidelined for up to four weeks through injury, while Tyrone Mings is a major doubt to play against Wolves on Saturday.
Mings suffered a knee injury last weekend in the draw with West Ham and missed Villa's win over Celtic as a result. In the first half of the 4-2 victory, Matty Cash pulled up with an injury and was replaced by John McGinn as Lamare Bogarde - who was playing in the double pivot- moved to right-back.
"We will train this afternoon, but Matty Cash is not available," Emery said. "He is going to be out for three or four weeks. Mings has a small injury, but I think he will need some days more to be ready to play."

Ross Barkley, meanwhile, remains sidelined with a calf injury, as Emery explained: "Barkley still has work to do individually before he joins us."
A win for Villa at Wolves wouldn't take them above Bournemouth in seventh, but they could close their four-point gap to the Champions League places. Emery's side took two strong results from away games against Everton and Arsenal earlier this month after losing five in a row in the league before then.
Having lost three of their first four Premier League home games against Villa (D1), Wolves have now lost just one of their last five against them at Molineux. Villa won the reverse fixture 3-1 at Villa Park – they’ve not done the league double over Wolves since the 2003-04 campaign.
Wolves picked up seven points in their first three league games under Vitor Pereira but have since lost four in a row. They’ve already lost five consecutively once this season, under previous manager Gary O’Neil and the only team to have separate runs of five or more defeats in a row under different managers in a season and survive relegation was West Ham in 2006-07.
