Aston Villa have perfect Marcus Rashford welcome gift after major transfer breakthrough
Aston Villa already have the perfect welcome gift ready and waiting for Marcus Rashford after the striker agreed personal terms over a move from Manchester United.
The two clubs reached a major breakthrough on Saturday after it became public an agreement in principle was found for the loan move, which is set to include a buy option. Villa are also expected to cover the majority of Rashford’s wages.
The England international emerged as a target for Unai Emery following Jhon Duran's £65million move to Al-Nassr earlier this week. The Colombian's departure left Villa needing to reinforce in the final couple of days of the winter transfer window and a move for Paris Saint-Germain's Marco Asensio is also being discussed.

As Villa are set to complete a move before Monday's deadline of 11pm, the number 10 shirt could await Rashford at Villa Park. The squad number is currently vacant following Emi Buendia's exit to Bayer Leverkusen earlier this week.
Rashford, meanwhile, has worn the number 10 shirt since the summer of 2018, taking over from Zlatan Ibrahimovic at United. At the time, former United boss Jose Mourinho explained Rashford's desire to inherit the shirt which has also previously been worn by Wayne Rooney.
"He wanted it," Mourinho said. "He always wanted it. Of course, he respected the big Rooney and then Zlatan wanted to have it. Of course, he was in the shadow, waiting for the opportunity and now the shirt is empty. It's something fantastic for the kid, let's give the shirt to him."
Should Villa wrap up a transfer before the deadline, the next opportunity for Rashford to make his debut will be in the FA Cup fourth round tie with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, February 9, at Villa Park.
