Aston Villa receive Oscar Mingueza transfer boost as Jhon Duran Jack Grealish stance 'emerges'
Aston Villa are safely through to the FA Cup fourth round after coming from behind to beat West Ham 2-1 on Friday evening.
Unai Emery's team also remain in a battle to finish in the Premier League's top four as they chase consecutive seasons in the lucrative Champions League. Villa currently sit eighth in the top-flight table, four points off fourth-placed Chelsea after 20 matches played.
The Villans are looking towards strengthening their squad in the Janaury transfer window to boost their ambitions domestically and in Europe. Villa's latest bid for Donyell Malen has been rebuffed but an agreement is closer to being found for the striker.

PSG forward Marco Asensio has also been linked with a move to B6. With all that said, below are some of the latest media reports surrounding Villa...
Mingueza boost
Villa are reportedly making progress in talks to sign Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza. The Villans have been linked with the 25-year-old amid Pau Torres' injury and uncertainty over Diego Carlos' long-term future at Villa Park.
And TBR Football claim that Villa transfer chief Monchi was in attendance to watch Mingueza and Celta face Rayo Vallecano on Friday evening. It is claimed there is growing confidence over a potential deal.
BirminghamLive's Isaac Seelochan says: "With two caps for European champions Spain and 18 appearances in La Liga so far this season, Mingueza could be a smart deal if the price is right. There will be some question marks over whether he can adapt to English football, but Villa's signings under Monchi have mostly been excellent so far."
Duran update
Paris Saint-Germain reportedly believe they can persuade Villa to sell Jhon Duran this summer or even as early as this month. PSG are desperate for a centre-forward and Duran is said to be high on their list of targets.
The Daily Mail claim that Villa would demand a price that would put Duran behind only Jack Grealish, who joined Manchester City for £100million in 2021, in the club’s list of record sales.
BirminghamLive's Isaac Seelochan says: "Selling Duran in January would make little sense for Villa, particularly when considering he only signed a new deal in October. Of course, if the player wants to leave, then it would be best to sell, but he will surely be happy to remain until the season ends at the very least."
