Aston Villa suffer fresh injury blow in Arsenal clash
Aston Villa have suffered a fresh injury blow as Amadou Onana was forced off against Arsenal.
The midfielder left the pitch in the 36th minute just after Villa fell 1-0 behind. Gabriel Martinelli scored at the far post following a cross from Leandro Trossard.
Onana was replaced by Lamare Bogarde, who took up a position in the double pivot alongside Boubacar Kamara. It’s the first appearance the 21-year-old has made in the Premier League since November when he started in the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.

Onana will now be a big doubt to feature against AS Monaco on Tuesday night after picking up an injury not long after he returned from his last problem. The Belgian missed several matches before mid-December after picking up a foot injury while on international duty.
Villa are already without midfielders John McGinn and Ross Barkley. Captain McGinn is back on the grass as he steps up his recovery from a hamstring injury, but Barkley is expected to be sidelined for another two weeks.
Pau Torres is out with a broken metatarsal and won’t return for another two months or so, while Diego Carlos is not available either but is closing in on a move to Fenerbahce.
