Aston Villa have suffered a fresh injury blow after Ezri Konsa was forced off injured against Tottenham.

The centre-back appeared to suffer a muscular injury after pulling up while chasing back. He thumped the ground before receiving treatment and then came off.

Replaced by Lamare Bogarde in the 26th minute, Konsa could now face a spell on the sidelines. Villa manager Unai Emery will be asked about the defender’s condition in his post-match press conference.

Villa are already without Tyrone Mings through injury, while Pau Torres is expected to be out until around the start of next month.

Axel Disasi joined Villa on loan from Chelsea at the very end of the winter transfer window and will surely start against Ipswich Town next weekend. Though, if Mings and Konsa remain out, then Kamara could continue in defence rather than in midfield.

Like Mings, Ollie Watkins could also return to action next weekend after missing the game against Tottenham with a groin problem. Emery is hopeful he’ll be back in training next week.

Matty Cash and Ross Barkley are also currently sidelined, while Amadou Onana was not named in the squad to face Spurs.
