Unai Emery has named his Aston Villa side to take on Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth round of the FA Cup this evening.

He has made two changes to the side which lost 2-0 at Wolves last weekend as Donyell Malen starts up front instead of Ollie Watkins, while Leon Bailey comes in for Lamare Bogarde. New signings Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio are on the bench.

From back to front, Emi Martinez starts in goal behind a defence of Andres Garcia, Ezri Konsa, Boubacar Kamara and Lucas Digne. John McGinn operates in the double pivot alongside Youri Tielemans as Bailey plays from the right and Jacob Ramsey on the left. Morgan Rogers supports Malen in attack.

Villa are looking to reach the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2014-15, when they eventually reached the final before losing 4-0 to Arsenal. They have progressed from just one of their last six FA Cup ties against Tottenham, winning 1-0 at White Hart Lane in a third round replay after a goalless draw at Villa Park in 1992.

Spurs come into the game on the back of a 4-0 defeat at Liverpool in midweek as they were exited the Carabao Cup at the semi-final stage. They have won nine of their last 10 away games against Villa in all competitions (L1), with their last two wins coming by the same 4-0 scoreline (April 2022 and March 2024).
