Aston Villa transfer update as Jhon Duran cash could fund huge £40m move for Man Utd target
Aston Villa have reportedly joined the race to sign Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel as Jhon Duran closes in on a move to Al-Nassr.
The 21-year-old is due to have a medical in London today ahead of signing for the Saudi Pro League side and flying into Riyadh to link up with his new teammates. Villa are set to replace Duran in the coming days, with Joao Felix known to be a long-term target for Unai Emery.
But reports in France claim that exciting 19-year-old Tel is also on Villa’s radar as a possible replacement. RMC Sport have reported that Villa have joined the race for the versatile Bayern forward, with Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United all interested.

Tel is thought to have concerns over his playing time at Chelsea - if he joined the Blues - leaving Tottenham as the frontrunners. However, Villa could offer him Champions League football in the final part of this season and an opportunity to develop under Emery, who has worked wonders for a number of Villa stars.
Morgan Rogers, who joined Villa for just £8m rising to £15m last year, scored a hat-trick in the 4-2 win over Celtic on Wednesday night as the club booked its place in the Champions League last 16 via an eighth-placed finish in the league phase.
Bayern are wanting between £40m to £50m for Tel, whose future is expected to be decided shortly ahead of the close of the Premier League and Bundesliga windows on February 3.
