The transfer wheels inside the walls of Aston Villa are very much in motion as we reach the final fortnight of the January window. Villa have acted in bringing in Donyell Malen to aid Unai Emery's squad's attacking department, while they've parted with Jaden Philogene, who has left for Ipswich Town.

Villa have a host of existing players who could yet leave the club this month; Diego Carlos, Emiliano Buendia, Louie Barry and Kosta Nedeljkovic are among a host of names who might depart either permanently or on loan. Villa are also keen on bringing in another defender by way of cover and competition for the existing back-line options.

Here are are the latest transfer rumours involving Villa ahead of the 3rd of February deadline.

Diego's departure

Unai Emery has confirmed Diego Carlos could leave Aston Villa in this window with the club in talks over his exit.

Fenerbahce are reportedly trying to get a deal over the line for the Brazilian, who is due to enter the final 12 months of his contract in the summer. The 31-year-old was available for transfer in the summer, but a move never materialised.

Emery has been tight-lipped on Carlos' future in recent weeks, but was pushed on the defender's future before Villa's 2-2 draw with Arsenal. It was the fourth match in a row Carlos did not play in.

Emery on Emi

Unai Emery says Emi Buendia could leave Aston Villa in the winter window given his lack of game time this season.

The 28-year-old is yet to start a league game this season and has only been introduced off the bench before the 80th minute on two occasions, against Newcastle United and Leicester City in recent weeks. He played the final 18 minutes of Villa's FA Cup third round win over West Ham after starting both League Cup fixtures against Wycombe Wanderers in September and then Crystal Palace in October.

Argentinian giants River Plate are said to be interested in signing Buendia in this window, which follows heavy interest in the playmaker last summer, where Leeds United tried to take him on loan.

Bade update

Aston Villa are intensifying talks with Sevilla to sign Loic Bade, according to reports.

The 24-year-old centre-back has been identified as the club's primary target to replace Diego Carlos, who is expected to leave in this winter window. Turkish giants Fenerbahce are working to get a deal over the line for the Brazilian.

Villa must sell Carlos before recruiting Bade, who signed a long-term contract with Sevilla back in September. Though, the Spanish club are open to selling Bade for the right price given their financial position.

Andres' arrival

Aston Villa are closing in on the signing of Andres Garcia after the Levante manager Julian Calero confirmed the player was "99 per cent out".

Sporting Lisbon were keen to land the full-back, but Villa look to have stolen a march on his signature in what will be a blow to the Portuguese club.

According to SuperDeporte, they say the 21-year-old’s transfer is close to being finalised with the fee set at around £6m.

Offer incoming

Aston Villa are bracing themselves for a "seven-figure bid" for Louie Barry from Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic as the Scottish giants were told the winger is "ready" for a move.

Brendan Rodgers' side are expected to test Villa's resolve with an opening offer for the exciting talent who has a host of Championship sides chasing his signature.

Derby County, Middlesbrough and others are among them, but there is fierce competition for the 21-year-old whose future is under the spotlight after being recalled by Villa from his loan at Stockport County.
