Aston Villa transfer news: PSG contact revealed amid blockbuster Jhon Duran swap deal theory
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly approached Aston Villa over signing Jhon Duran this January.
Duran, 21, only signed a new contract three months ago which extends the player's deal until the summer of 2030. However, after links with a switch to Chelsea and West Ham United this summer resulted in Duran not playing any pre-season friendlies, reputed interest from other would-be suitors has now resurfaced this month.
Once again, links to the west London club are back but, after the striker's first half of this season, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund are also featuring on the rumour mill. Duran scored 12 goals in all competitions, before being sent-off against Newcastle United on Boxing Day.

PSG are also reportedly in the frame, with TEAMtalk indicating they have "contacted" Villa to ask what it would take to sign the striker. That publication also alleges Duran is "keen" on joining the Parisian club - purporting that the player's representatives are trying to make Villa reduce their price tag, which is reportedly £80million.
Football Insider have previously claimed talks were due to take place regarding a player-plus-cash swap deal that would see Duran and Randal Kolo Muani trade places. However, French outlet RMC Sport reckons PSG could now include Marco Asensio in a move for the 15-cap Colombia striker.
They credit Villa with an interest in the former Real Madrid player, with whom there were links 18 months before Asensio arrived in Paris. Like with Kolo Muani, the attacking midfielder has barely played for PSG in recent weeks.
That is why the publication reckons the three-time Champions League winner could leave the French capital this winter, as PSG would not stand in the way of a switch for the 28-year-old, should they receive an offer. However, they acknowledge that the French outfit must pay an added fee to make a Duran for Asensio swap deal plausible.
