Aston Villa transfer target 'not training' as he awaits clarity before deadline
Aston Villa transfer target Juan Foyth hasn't been training with Villarreal in recent days as he awaits to discover whether or not he'll be returning to the Premier League before the closure of the January transfer window next Monday.
Defender Foyth, who was signed for Villarreal by Unai Emery in 2021 and helped the club win the Europa League at the expense of Manchester United in the same year, has previously had an extended stint in England with Tottenham Hotspur. He has been identified by Emery and Villa as a potential option in the market as they look to bolster their defensive options.
Foyth, who can play at centre half and at right-back, has reportedly not trained with his teammates ahead of their La Liga meeting with Real Valladolid this weekend - and it's not considered to be as a result of an injury concern.

To that end, the Spanish press are of the belief that it points towards Foyth edging closer to reuniting with Emery, and centre half counterpart Pau Torres, at Villa Park before the deadline passes early next week. Villa, of course, have been hit hard in the back-line recently.
Having lost Torres to a broken foot - he is likely to be out until March time - they are also sweating on the availability of Tyrone Mings, who worried everyone initially with the manner he left the field during the draw with West Ham on Sunday, only to emerge later in the game in an upbeat spirit. Diego Carlos has also been sold to Fenerbahce, leaving Ezri Konsa as the only senior, fit, centre half currently.
