Aston Villa's home Premier League fixture against Liverpool has been rescheduled.

Unai Emery's side were due to face the Reds at Villa Park on Saturday, March 15 at 12:30pm, but the clash has been moved as a result of Liverpool's progression to the Carabao Cup final. The game is now set to take place on Wednesday, February 19, kicking off at 7.30pm and will be shown live on TNT Sports.

Villa now have four home fixtures in a row. They host Tottenham in the FA Cup fourth round this Sunday, live on BBC One at 5:35pm, before three Premier League matches at Villa Park. Ipswich Town is first up on Saturday, February 15, before Liverpool in midweek and Chelsea on Saturday, February 22.

It does feel as though this period is going to be crucial if Villa are going to get their Premier League season moving. As well as booking their place in the next round of the FA Cup, Villa are hoping to pick up some important points at home in the top-flight, as they bid to push for the Champions League places.

At the moment, Villa sit eighth in the Premier League table. They have won 10 and drawn seven of their 24 top-flight fixtures so far. Emery's men are six points behind fourth-place Chelsea but could find themselves near the top four should they enjoy a fine run of form at home in the next couple of weeks.

The last time Villa played Liverpool was in the Premier League in November. That came at Anfield when the Reds ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah.
