Aston Villa wait for transfer dominoes to topple as Dortmund are set £30m Liverpool fee
Borussia Dortmund have identified Harvey Elliott as a replacement for Donyell Malen as Aston Villa close in on the Dutch winger.
Villa have been linked with Malen even before the current transfer window opened, with the latest reports suggesting they have improved their offer to €25million as Unai Emery seeks to augment his attacking options.
It is said the Bundesliga outfit want nearer €30m for a player who has scored 55 goals in 116 appearances since moving to Dortmund – but generally the deal seems to be getting closer rather than receding.

They will be holding out for as much as they can, though, with The Sun reporting Liverpool are demanding £30m for the ‘unsettled’ Elliott. The story says that is more than they are willing to pay.
Elliott suffered a foot injury earlier this season and has managed only 43 minutes of Premier League action, spread over seven appearances off the bench. He was an unused substitute in the Carabao Cup loss to Tottenham last week.
The Mirror claim Dortmund also have their eye on Germany attacker Kevin Schade, who is currently at Brentford. They say Dortmund have opened talks with Schade’s agents, but they have yet to contact the Bees.
What does seem to be emerging is that BVB are looking for a replacement for Malen, which can only help Villa’s prospects.
