Unai Emery has confirmed Aston Villa have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the Premier League clash with Arsenal, while John McGinn is nearing a return.

Diego Carlos remains unavailable for the clash after missing the club's last three games against Leicester City, West Ham and Everton. Captain McGinn also remains out this weekend, but has stepped up his recovery from a hamstring injury.

"Pau Torres is still out and John McGinn is starting to train on the field, but not available for tomorrow," Emery said in his press conference. "Barkley is still out. Diego Carlos, this morning he had a medical report and he is not feeling good. I think he is not going to be there again."

Villa have the chance to close the gap to second-placed Arsenal to just five points as they target successive away league wins at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners haven't lost consecutive home league games against Villa since their first two meetings in the Premier League.

Emery's side have won their last three games in all competitions and come into the clash on the back of beating Everton at Goodison Park, which was their first away league win since October.

But, having lost just one of their first 13 Premier League away games against London sides under Emery, Villa have lost their last two visits to the capital by an aggregate score of 7-1.

Since losing 2-0 to Villa in April, Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 13 Premier League home games. They last had a longer run without defeat at the Emirates between August and April in 2018/19 under the current Villa boss.
