Philippe Coutinho’s stunning move to Barcelona was completed this weekend – but the LaLiga giants have clearly been preparing for this moment for a long time.

Liverpool sanctioned the sale of their star man for a Premier League record transfer fee of £142million on Saturday evening as Coutinho jetted off to Spain to begin his new life.

However, as Yahoo Sport UK revealed back in the summer, the Brazilian had been told the move was a done deal before transfer deadline day at the end of August.

The switch didn’t happen until this week despite Coutinho handing in a transfer request and downing tools in training at Melwood, also exclusively revealed by Yahoo.

It seems as though the Catalan giants were so convinced that the player would head to LaLiga all those months ago that they had been putting together a package for his arrival.

Eagle-eyed Liverpool fans have noticed something very fish with the social media video post that Barcelona used to welcome Coutinho to the club yesterday, which is shown below.

At first glance, it appears perfectly normal and above board.

But if you look closely at Coutinho’s Facebook page when the video scans for his posts and the most recent one featured is dated August 8.

That means the Barcelona social media team, who created the video, accessed his page in the summer in order to add the detail into their post.

Coutinho has posted three further updates on September 15, November 9 and December 9 since that post, meaning the video must have been produced in that short window between the start of August and the middle of September.

Supporters noticed the date and took to Twitter to vent their anger, one poster calling it ‘cheeky’ and another launching a four-letter blast to bemoan the move.
