Bath Rugby have officially confirmed the signing of Dan Frost from Exeter Chiefs ahead of the 2025/26 season on a two-year contract,

Frost began his career with his local club North Petherton RFC – during which time he was a member of the Bath Rugby Academy – also representing Taunton Titans and England U18s, before signing with Cornish Pirates in 2018. Ahead of the 2021/22 season, Frost joined Wasps where he established himself as a regular under Lee Blackett, who is now attack coach at Bath. The 27-year-old played 25 times for Wasps, scoring seven tries, before switching to Chiefs in 2022, since when he has gone on to make 48 appearances, scoring 17 tries.

On returning to his former club, Frost said: “I think it’s a really exciting time to be joining Bath and I’m hoping I can add my own strengths to the squad next season to help compete for trophies over the coming years. From a personal point, it’s exciting to be able to return to the club having gone through the academy, also to work with some great coaches who I previously worked with at Wasps. Whilst there is still a lot of rugby to be played at Chiefs, I’m excited for the challenge that awaits me at Bath Rugby and can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Bath’s Head of Rugby Johann van Graan said: “Dan is an explosive ball carrier, strong in the set piece, with the ability to be in the right place at the right time. What has impressed me has been his hunger to get better. Whether he is starting or an impact player he always makes a positive difference. I am looking forward to welcoming him on our journey together at Bath Rugby.”

Frost's departure at Chiefs will come as a disappointment to fans as he has been a standout player in the struggling side's pack this season, winning player of the match accolades, however his indiscipline has frustrated the Exeter coaching staff at times.

The Devon club look set for a significant turnaround in the hooker department with Jack Innard reportedly attacking interest from the United Rugby Championship and club captain Jack Yeandle now 35 and getting fewer and fewer first team minutes despite currently being fit. The club are understood to have made several enquiries about adding hookers but have yet to full the trigger on anyone.

Chiefs director of rugby Rob Baxter said: “We’re pleased we could give Dan an opportunity to carry on in Premiership Rugby when things went wrong at Wasps, and he’s made the most of that. He’s been a good, important player within the squad over the last couple of seasons for us here at Exeter Chiefs. We wish him well in the future.”
