Bath Rugby’s exciting young back Sam Harris suffered a knee injury on Sunday in just his second game back following his return from an ankle injury he picked up back in October.

Harris played for Bath United in their impressive win over England U20s last month but had his game cut short in the Blue, Black and Whites’ 43-26 win over Bedford Blues in the Premiership Rugby Cup on Sunday after he crumpled to the floor having tried to put in a big step. Discussing the latest injury to Harris, Bath head of academy Andy Robinson said post-match: “He has got a knee injury. We are waiting to see what happens. When I spoke to him after the game he said it was a bit better than when it first happened which is positive, but we shall see.”

Bath’ head of medical Rory Murray has also provided an official injury update on several key players currently on the sidelines. He said: “Sam Underhill suffered an ankle injury against Northampton that required ankle surgery, he will miss the entirety of the Six Nations but will return in the early rounds of the resumption of the Premiership.

“Archie Griffin sustained a shoulder injury against La Rochelle in the Champions Cup, he had a shoulder surgical procedure and he will return to training in the next couple of weeks and will be also available for the early rounds of the Premiership’s return.”

"Will Muir and Guy Pepper sustained hamstring injuries against Northampton. They are now both back up and running and will resume team training in the next couple of weeks.

"Cam Redpath will resume team training in the next couple of weeks and will be available for selection from the early rounds of the Prem Cup.”

Loosehead prop Scott Kirk also made his return to competitive rugby off the bench in Sunday’s game having recovered from an ACL injury he suffered last year.
