Battery Park junior parkrun rounds off 2024 with solid turnout

THE Battery Park junior parkrun event wrapped up the year with a solid turnout on its final event of 2024.

On December 29, event number 165 saw 16 junior parkrunners and 18 volunteers in action.

Throughout the year, the Battery Park hosted 46 junior parkruns, with an average of 27 runners and 16 volunteers weekly.

Faye was second to finish the run (Image: Supplied) The highest turnout recorded was 40 runners, while the lowest was 10.

The most number of volunteers in a day was 20, and the least was 13.

Louis and Anna led the pack with the most first-place finishes—19 and 20, respectively.

Elijah and Faye followed, with 15 and 10 finishes each.

In total, there were 10 different boy first-place finishers and 11 different girl first-place finishers.

Ruairidh set his newest personal best (Image: Supplied) This week, Ruairidh achieved a new personal best time of 14 minutes 16 seconds.

First to finish the run was Lauryn, completing it in 9 minutes 4 seconds, followed by Faye at 9 minutes 16 seconds, and Cadhlea at 9 minutes 53 seconds.

Cadhlea completed the run in just less than 10 minutes (Image: Supplied) The first boy to cross the finish line was James at 9 minutes 31 seconds, closely followed by Elijah at 9 minutes 32 seconds.

Theo completed the top three boys at 9 minutes 52 seconds.

The parkrun organisers expressed heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers who made the event happen.
