Ben Cabango has finally decided to commit his future to Swansea City.

After weeks of speculation, the Wales international has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2028, with his previous contract running out at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has emerged as a key player under Luke Williams this season, and this news will likely come as a substantial boost ahead of the hectic festive period.

Cabango has so far made 206 appearances for the Swans and says he's shared his excitement to have committed his future to the club.

"I'm really happy to have signed a new contract with Swansea City. We've been talking about it for a while and I think since Andy's taken over it’s been really positive. I've seen the change obviously with the gaffer as well. It's all been more positive and everything is going in the right direction.

"I've been here for a long time, and I'm so happy and comfortable. I really want to see Swansea City as a club progress.

"Andy arranged a presentation with all the staff; the chef, the assistant coaches, the kit men, Grimesy was in it, and obviously the gaffer. That was a big thing because they were all telling me how much they want me to be here, and what the club's going to be looking like in the future. It all sounded really good to me, and I gained a lot out of it. I just want to get better and better.

"The path that the club is on at the moment, we will be there or there about soon. It's going to take time and we're starting to see the results and hopefully we can keep building.

"With Wales, I've started the last game which is a real positive for me and I just need to focus on Swansea and I think I'll get more chances to play for Wales in the future.

"The fans mean a lot to me, obviously. I've been here since I was young now and they've treated me like one of their own. It means a lot to hear my song getting sung every game in the corner. It makes me smile every time when I'm playing so yeah, it means a lot to me.

"If I've made a few Christmases, I'm more than happy with that. Merry Christmas."

Swansea chairman, Andy Coleman, who's understood to have played a heavy role in convincing Cabango to stay added: "We are overjoyed to have Ben commit his future to Swansea City.

"His dedication and talent are invaluable to our team, and this new contract is a testament to our ambition and our bright future.

"We made a presentation as part of the negotiations to Ben so he knew exactly how important he was to us, and this is a really exciting early Christmas present for our fans. We look forward to many more successful years with him."
