Ben Doak scores Middlesbrough screamer amid £30million transfer interest in Liverpool loanee
Ben Doak continued his red-hot start to the season with Middlesbrough by wrapping things up in style with a delightful goal in a 2-0 home win against West Brom.
Former Scotland U21 international Hayden Hackney had given the hosts the lead just shy of the half hour mark before Doak capped off the win for Michael Carrick's men with six minutes left on the clock. The Liverpool loanee picked up the ball outside the box before shifting it onto his left foot and curling a superb effort beyond Baggies stopper Alex Palmer.
The victory has boosted Boro's hopes of gaining promotion back to the Premier League after a 16-year absence, with the Riverside club now occupying a play-off spot in the Championship. Pacey wide man Doak has extended his tally to three goals and six assists in 23 appearances in all competitions.

Boro boss Carrick has confirmed that the Anfield giants do have an option to recall the loanee ahead of the January window slamming shut, which could pave the way for a permanent departure for the ex Celtic kid.
Liverpool reportedly value the Scotland star at £30million.However, Doak is thought to be in the long-term plans of Liverpool manager Slot, having already made 10 first team appearances for the Reds during Jurgen Klopp's tenure at Anfield.
