South Africa won the toss and put the hosts into bat at The Oval for the World Cup opener.

Stokes top scored for England on the way to a score of 311-8, meaning South Africa needed 312 for the win.

The 27-year-old’s unbelievable dismissal of Phehlukwayo meant the Proteas were 180-7 with just over 15 overs to play.
