Ben White's agent, Alexander Levack, has issued a passionate statement defending the Arsenal star after recent criticism. The defender has been under scrutiny in recent months but has chosen to let his performances on the pitch speak for themselves.

White has become an integral part of Mikel Arteta's setup this season, excelling in the right-back position and forming a strong partnership with Bukayo Saka. The former Brighton player has shown significant improvement in his offensive game while remaining steadfast in defence.

Despite his impressive performances, the 26-year-old has found himself in the headlines, not always for positive reasons. He faced backlash for making himself unavailable for England duty after returning early from the Qatar World Cup, a decision that even England manager Gareth Southgate expressed disappointment over.

However, White has remained focused on his club duties, making his 33rd appearance of the season in Arsenal's resounding 5-0 victory over Chelsea on Tuesday night. The defender scored twice in the match, bringing his total for the season to four goals.

His performance prompted his agent, Levack, to publicly address the issues surrounding his client, reports the Express. Levack has defended White following weeks of negative media attention.

Writing on LinkedIn, the representative stated: "I feel compelled to write this today after such a great performance last night, and all season for that matter, from client Ben White. For the past four weeks, Ben has been in the press and media a great deal in that time with a large percentage of that being negative.

"Whilst I appreciate that Ben is in the public eye, which brings its own connotations and leaves you open to criticism, I wanted to make the point that every elite performer, whichever field that may be, is a human being who has the same feeling we all have and experience good and bad."

Praising White for the 'unbelievable robustness' he has shown, Levack continued: "No one knows what is actually going on in one's life so I really believe people should think before making a judgement or criticising these elite performers in public. Ben has shown unbelievable robustness and strength throughout this adverse period off the pitch and has blocked out all the noise and has performed incredibly well on the pitch, in a situation where many others could have and would have wilted.

"Ben has an incredible temperament and attitude which allows him the ability to navigate through his working and personal life. I suppose the main message is be kind to people as you do not have the full facts, which in Ben's case neither Ben nor I wish to vocalise publicly, and do not know what is going on in peoples personal lives so again please be kind."
