Arsenal are continuing to be linked with a move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.

The Gunners have been linked with the possibility of signing a striker ever since last summer. Mikel Arteta has opted not to bring a striker to the Emirates Stadium over the last 12 months, despite strong rumours suggesting one could be signed.

Ever since January, the rumours that a new striker could be signed have increased significantly. Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are currently the main centre-forward options for the Gunners, although Havertz has often been utilised in midfield and Jesus has struggled with injuries this term.

Sesko is one of several strikers to be linked with Arsenal in recent months. He is joined by Sporting Lisbon's Victor Gyokeres, Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee, Brentford's Ivan Toney and Napoli's Victor Osimhen, among others.

Arsenal 'in pole position' to sign Benjamin Sesko

The latest report from The Telegraph has stated that Arsenal are showing a strong interest in signing Sesko this summer. Sesko only moved to Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg last summer in a deal reportedly worth around £20 million.

It has been claimed that Arsenal are now the favourites to sign Sesko this summer. The 20-year-old has also been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea in recent months, but it seems that Sesko is the player that Arteta wants to strengthen his forward options.

Benjamin Sesko release clause

Various reports have claimed to reveal the value of the release clause in Sesko's contract at Leipzig.

It was reported by Sky Germany that Sesko originally had a clause worth £43 million in his deal with the Bundesliga club. However, it seems that figure may now have increased.

Sesko has scored 17 goals in 41 appearances for Leipzig this season. It's that form which has been reported to have seen the release clause in his contract increase to £64 million.
