Arsenal could have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko as RB Leipzig are ready top splash out €30million to sign Southampton wonderkid Tyler Dibling before the winter transfer window closes.

The teenage talent has been one of few success stories to emerge from St Mary's this season, as Southampton sit at the bottom of the table, winless in 12 league matches.

The 18-year-old winger has been praised for his direct play during the 20 league outings this season - scoring twice. The England U21 international has attracted interest from many clubs - domestically and across Europe.

In recent years, the German club has brought promising Premier League talents to the Red Bull Arena on loan such as Liverpool's Fabio Carvalho and Arsenal's Emile Smith-Rowe. But, it has been reported by German transfer guru Florian Plettenberg that Leipzig are willing to "pay €30million for the versatile winger" this month.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta will be watching Leipzig's transfer dealings with piqued interest as the Spaniard weighs up a last-minute swoop for striker Benjamin Sesko. Arsenal have struggled in front of goal this season compared to title rivals Liverpool and are expected to try to sign an attacker this month to ease concerns.

Sesko has scored 22 goals in 48 Bundesliga games for Leipzig since joining the club in the summer of 2023. The 21-year-old is said to be high on Arteta's wish list which includes Premier League scorers Alexander Isak and Mateus Cunha.

The player's decision to extend his deal with the Red Bull side in the summer, after extensive scouting from the Gunners, has made a deal for the Slovenian's services in the next two weeks unlikely - or very expensive.

However, the fifth-placed Bundesliga side's willingness to bolster their attacking ranks could bode well for the London club. Leipzig also obtain the services of top scorer Lois Openda, Andre Silva and Yussuf Poulsen, in addition to Sesko, at striker.

This depth, with the potential arrival of Dibling, could make it easier to part ways with Sesko and let Arteta get his man.

Leipzig, who play under the Red Bull footballing banner, are one of the clubs vying for the player's signature. They are known for their youth-centric transfer policy, similar to other Red Bull clubs, and their ability to further develop players before selling them on for a healthy profit.

Elsewhere, the German club has been linked to other attacking options such as Juventus' Timothy Weah and AC Milan's Noah Okafor as they push for Champions League qualification.
