Stars Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour joined other Scottish names in moving abroad as they linked up with Antonio Conte at Napoli.
Meanwhile Glasgow hosted a successful 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in March, ten years on from holding the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Tennis legend Andy Murray hung up his racket after two Wimbledon wins and a US Open victory over a near-20 year career. Elsewhere, it was a record-breaking turn by the 34 Scottish athletes who were selected to represent Team GB at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France. And the Scotland Rugby team were pipped to Six Nations glory by Ireland on the final matchday.
