'Big thing for me to say' - Liverpool star drops new hint on future after transfer speculation
Kostas Tsimikas has dropped a hint about his Liverpool future ahead of the Reds’ League Cup semi-final second leg clash with Tottenham Hotspur. The Greek has made 20 appearances so far this season with Arne Slot regularly rotating at left-back between the defender and Andy Robertson.
The Scot has struggled for form and consistency at times this season, and has received criticism after a number of high-profile mistakes. Set to turn 31 next month and out of contract in 2026, his future at Anfield has come under question as a result.
Liverpool have been linked with a number of left-backs in recent weeks, with AFC Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez leading the list as a mooted target.

The Reds have been urged repeatedly by onlookers to sign a new left-sided defender, with any new arrival having a knock-on effect on both Tsimikas and Robertson.
Last week, the Scotland international responded to criticism he has faced this season as he insisted he wants to remain Liverpool’s starting left-back.
And now Tsimikas has declared his happiness at Anfield, admitting he is playing with confidence under Slot and wants to continue playing with the Reds for as ‘many years’ as possible.
“I just feel confident. I feel like the manager believes in me,” he told the club website. “When I play, he is always there for me and always shows me that he wants the best for me.
“I really, really enjoy to be here with the manager, with the boys. You can always see the smile on my face when I play and when we score a goal.
“It's a big thing for me to say good things but, as I always say, the mirror is the pitch – you have to show there exactly what you can do. Nothing is easy, as we know. I'm really, really happy and I will continue to do this for as many years as I can.”
Slot recently explained his decision to regularly rotate between Robertson and Tsimikas this season.
“If Kostas was on a completely different level than Robbo, then it would not be smart to rotate in that position or manage the load,” he told reporters. “Because then you drop so far in quality that it could be a risk.
“I don’t know what Kostas’ situation was last season – I know that he didn’t play a lot but I don’t know which level he was at – but from the moment I came in, in our tour of the United States, he did really well.
“So he’s proved that he can play in the left full-back position as well. Since we’ve got now two good options in my opinion, you indeed see that we are managing loads and rotate in that position quite a bit.”
