BILLY GILMOUR has revealed he has started to settle into his new life at Napoli thanks to an Italian rapper.

The Scotland star moved to Naples with international colleague Scott McTominay and the switch has been a huge success with Antonio Conte's side currently in second place in Serie A.

And the former Rangers, Chelsea and Brighton midfielder has revealed the unusual way he has tried to embrace the culture and learn the language....by listening to Naples rap artist Geolier.

Gilmour said: "I think Scott McTominay is probably a little further along in the process of Neapolitanisation than me.

"We study the dialect and we also learn the language through listening to songs - I listen to Geolier, there are two or three of his songs that I listen to the most.

"The first contact with the culture was with taxi drivers in cars.

"Naples has a strong identity, very passionate, just like us Scots. I've been here for three and a half months, I'm making progress.

"On the pitch, with the manager we have, we understand how to be better and how to help each other during the match to raise the level.

"There is a desire to be positive and proactive to improve and get better results.

"With regards to my influences in football, Cesc Fabregas was a role model at Chelsea, who helped me a lot to improve.

"And I had a big season with Roberto De Zerbi. He taught me a lot that changed the way I played.

"There are things in common between him and Antonio Conte - they both always ask for the maximum during training and help you grow a lot.”
