All Blacks haka response left 81 million people awe-struck in most-watched ever
The haka. Arguably the most iconic aspect of rugby, it's a tradition that transcends the boundaries in sport for a spectacle that anyone can enjoy.
When thinking of iconic haka moments, England's challenge against the All Blacks in 2019 definitely springs to mind, along with Wales' epic stand-off at the-then Millennium Stadium.
In terms of raw viewing figures, however, it seems the internet has made its feelings clear about which haka is most memorable. New Zealand's haka against France from the 2011 Rugby World Cup has garnered a stunning 81 million views on YouTube, making it the most-watched haka video on the entire platform.

And when you think of rugby greats, this game featured a fair few of them.
Playing for New Zealand on the day were the likes of Ma'a Nonu, Richie McCaw and Piri Weepu, with the latter leading the 'Ka Mate' haka in the clip. For France, legendary captain Thierry Dusatoir and iconic half-back Morgan Parra were just some of the Test match stars facing off against the Maori war dance.
But France didn't just stand and watch. Like Wales in 2008, they challenged the mighty Kiwi tradition. Forming a V-shape, which would be adopted by England eight years later, the French readied themselves for battle and marched forward to meet the All Blacks. The tension inside the ground was palpable as Weepu led the pack.
Check out the video below, it's the most-viewed rugby haka video on YouTube.
Until just a few months ago, this clip was believed to be the most-viewed video of a haka in any form. However, in New Zealand parliament last month, the Maori party performed a haka in front of fellow MPs in protest of a proposed new bill.
That clip has gained almost half a billion views and 26 million likes. If you'd like to read more about that and watch the video, click here.
