'It's a blow to us': Reading boss issues update on injured duo ahead of FA Cup outing
Reading boss Noel Hunt has issued an update on injured pair Mamadi Camara and Michael Craig ahead of a this week's FA Cup third round tie with Championship side Burnley.
The young pair have been regulars this season, with Camara scoring in the last two home matches, but both are set to miss the next few weeks with groin and hamstring issues respectively.
This came at the back end of a hectic festive schedule in which the Royals played five matches in three weeks, picking up 10 points out of 12 and remain in the top six.
Speaking after Saturday's 0-0 draw at Charlton Athletic, Hunt confirmed Camara is set to miss at least three weeks while Craig is still struggling.
"He [Camara] had a scan and its weeks rather than months, maybe three or four weeks. He’s done great so it’s a blow for us."
On Craig, he added: "The scan came back, and it looked okay but he’s still feeling pain so we can only go off Michael. We have to take it day-by-day and see how it goes but as of now he is still feeling it, so we have to try and push him but not shove him."
Reading now play once a week for the next three weeks, a more regular fixture schedule than the Christmas period.
