Carlisle United are 5/2 to turn the tables on Omari Patrick and Kristian Dennis and claim a crucial victory over Tranmere Rovers today.

The Blues head to Prenton Park this afternoon in their latest attempt to make up ground on fellow strugglers.

Odds of 5/2 for a United win are offered by Unibet and BetMGM, while a Carlisle victory is priced 9/4 by Bet365 and 12/5 by William Hill.

Nigel Adkins' Tranmere are Evens with Unibet and BetMGM to chalk up a victory over Mike Williamson's side.

BetFred price a Rovers win 23/20 with SkyBet offering 11/10.

The draw in Birkenhead is 5/2.

Former United favourite Patrick was the difference when the sides met at Brunton Park earlier this season, his two goals sealing a 2-1 win for Tranmere in Paul Simpson's last game in charge of Carlisle.

Patrick is 6/1 favourite to open the scoring against his former club again this afternoon.

His fellow ex-Blues attacker Dennis is 13/2 to score first today.

The duo are 12/5 and 13/5 respectively to score at any stage in the game, while a Patrick hat-trick is 150/1.

For Carlisle, Luke Armstrong is 9/1 to get the first goal, with Kadeem Harris 14/1 for the opener and 6/1 to score for the third straight game at any stage in proceedings.

United new boy Elliot Embleton is 13/2 to mark his debut with a goal at any time, and 16/1 to score first.

Other first scorer prices in the Carlisle ranks include Daniel Adu-Adjei at 9/1, Dominic Sadi at 11/1, Jon Mellish at 18/1 and Jack Ellis - who opened the scoring at Crewe on Wednesday's 3-2 defeat with his first United goal - 33/1.

For Tranmere, Sol Solomon is 15/2 for the opener, with Connor Jennings 8/1, Harvey Saunders 15/2 and Jordan Turnbull 33/1.

Carlisle were 2-0 winners on their last visit to Prenton Park in the 2022/23 season, and a repeat of that result today is 18/1.

A 2-1 Blues victory is 11/1 while United are 9/1 for a 1-0 win.

Tranmere are 8/1 to claim a second 2-1 win over the Blues this season, and 9/1 to win 2-0.

A goalless draw between the division's 21st and 24th-placed sides is 10/1.
