‘Bodkin’ Trailer: Will Forte Travels to Ireland to Track Down a Possible Serial Killer in True Crime Podcast Comedy

Will Forte just might be a new honorary Irish citizen on the internet thanks to upcoming Netflix comedy series “Bodkin.”

Forte stars as a podcaster who travels to a small coastal Irish town to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers. Siobhán Cullen and Robyn Cara play Forte’s fellow podcast hosts who uncover a story much bigger and weirder than they could have ever imagined.

Per the official synopsis, as the heroes of “Bodkin” try to discern fact from fiction — about the case, about their colleagues, and, most painfully, themselves — the series challenges our perception of truth and exposes the stories we tell ourselves to justify our beliefs or validate our fears. Chris Walley and David Wilmot also star.

Each of the seven “Bodkin” episodes span one hour. The original series is the latest Netflix venture from Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground productions, which was recently behind Oscar-nominated “Rustin.”

“Bodkin” is created by Jez Scharf who serves as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Alex Metcalf. The show is additionally executive produced by the Obamas, David Flynn, Paul Lee, Nne Ebong, Tonia Davis, Tonia Davis, and Nash Edgerton.

“Bodkin” star Forte recently appeared in comedy “Strays” and was slated to star in Warner Bros. Discovery’s shelved “Coyote vs. Acme.” Forte issued a social media statement describing his “confusion and frustration” over the Looney Tunes movie being effectively canceled by WBD.

“Look, when it comes to Hollywood business stuff, I don’t know shit about shit. Even when a movie tests very well (like ours), there’s no guarantee that it’s going to be a hit. And at the end of the day, the people who paid for this movie can obviously do whatever they want with it,” Forte wrote. “It doesn’t mean I have to like it (I fucking hate it). Or agree with it. And it doesn’t mean that this movie is anything less than magnificent.”

The upcoming Netflix lineup includes buzzy series “Ripley,” biopic “Scoop,” “The Circle” Season 6, “Our Living World” docuseries narrated by Cate Blanchett, and more.

“Bodkin” premieres May 9 on Netflix. Check out the trailer below.
