Bolton’s Under-14s hit big score in triumph on road
Bolton RUFC’s Under-14s put in a commanding performance against Manchester Rugby Club in an impressive 40-0 away victory last weekend.
From the first whistle, Bolton applied relentless pressure, keeping the ball deep in Manchester’s half.
Despite a few disallowed tries for knock-ons, their persistence paid off when Saxon broke through to score, with Luca converting under pressure.
Bolton quickly doubled their lead as play resumed, with Saxon collecting the ball straight from the restart and charging unopposed to the try line. Luca added the extras once again.
The visiting forwards dominated the scrums, and their back line showed excellent passing and vision, maintaining control throughout the first half.
The second half saw no let-up in Bolton’s intensity. Jake made a brilliant run down the wing, handing off four defenders before a creative pass from Dan found Joe, who sprinted through for another try. Luca remained flawless with the boot.
Defensively, Joel put in crucial tackles to prevent Manchester from gaining ground, while Bolton’s teamwork ensured their opponents struggled to break the central line.
A stunning solo effort from Raff saw him run in another unopposed try, perfectly positioned for another Luca conversion.
Further tries followed, including a determined effort from Luca himself and a late surge from Jake after an excellent long kick by Saxon.
Though Saxon’s conversion attempt fell just left, Bolton’s dominance was unquestionable, sealing a fantastic team performance.
