Wanderers don’t have to wait long for a chance to bounce back from Barnsley as the festive run-in continues against Lincoln.

Ian Evatt’s men let a lead slip against the Tykes, who struck through Davis Keillor-Dunn and Adam Phillips in a ruthless nine-minute spell on Boxing Day.

The Whites have now gone three league games without victory and find themselves 10th in the table – three points off the play-offs.

Team news

Wanderers hope that Victor Adeboyejo can shake off a virus in time to feature in the squad after missing the Barnsley defeat.

Jay Matete is back from suspension. Scott Arfield slotted into the midfield in the Sunderland loanee’s absence.

Eoin Toal could also be involved after returning to full training. The Northern Irish defender hasn’t featured since the win at Stevenage in late October.

Josh Sheehan, Chris Forino and Kyle Dempsey are edging closer to fitness, although none are expected to play a part in the final game of the calendar year.

Opposition lowdown

Lincoln sit ninth in the table, above Bolton on goal difference, although the Whites have played two fewer games at this stage.

The Imps were beaten 1-0 at Shrewsbury on Boxing Day, with Morgan Feeney getting the decisive goal inside the opening 10 minutes.

Michael Skubala’s side have won one of their last nine matches in the league – that victory came against Reading last weekend.

Head-to-head

Wanderers have faced Lincoln 26 times in their history, with a record of 14 wins, five draws and seven defeats.

Evatt’s men ran out 3-0 winners when the sides last met at the Toughsheet Community Stadium thanks to Jack Iredale and Adeboyejo, as well as a Paudie O’Connor own goal.

The Whites also come out on top at the LNER Stadium several months later, with Toal nodding home a late winner.
