How Bolton Wanderers could line up against Northampton Town
Wanderers will be aiming to build on a hard-fought win at Huddersfield when Northampton come to town.
Aaron Collins got the decisive goal as the Whites secured a big three points against the Terriers under the interim management of Julian Darby, Andy Taylor and Andrew Tutte.
That result left Bolton ninth in the League One table and only a point behind sixth-place Barnsley at this stage.
Team news
Wanderers will again make late decisions on the fitness of Ricardo Santos and Eoin Toal after the defensive duo were absent from the squad at the weekend.
Santos has been carrying a hip injury and unable to train properly for several weeks, while Toal is still feeling his way back to full fitness after a hamstring problem.
Jay Matete serves the second of his three-match ban, while Kyle Dempsey (knee) and Chris Forino (hamstring) remain sidelined.
As for the visitors, Tyler Roberts, Ben Fox, Ali Koiki and Jack Baldwin have returned to training but might not be ready to feature.
Opposition lowdown
There will be a familiar face in the dugout as Northampton boss Kevin Nolan returns to his old stomping ground.
Nolan has taken six points from his opening six games in the hot seat at Sixfields after replacing Jon Brady.
The Cobblers drew 0-0 at Wycombe over the weekend and were unfortunate not to win after Aaron McGowan had a goal controversially ruled out.
Head-to-head
Wanderers have faced Northampton 16 times in competitive matches, with a record of nine wins, two draws and five defeats.
The Whites won 4-2 at Sixfields earlier this season, with John McAtee, George Thomason, Eoin Toal and Dion Charles all getting on the scoresheet.
Bolton also came out on top at the Toughsheet Community Stadium last term thanks to Charles and Randell Williams.
