Borussia Dortmund tonight host Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie.

The French side will be eyeing a positive result in the first leg to take back to Paris, as these two sides meet yet again. They were in the same group earlier this season, when PSG won 2-0 at home and earned a 1-1 draw in Dortmund.

A repeat of that will see them through to the final at Wembley, and raise the prospect of Kylian Mbappe winning the Champions League in his final match for the club - potentially even at the expense of future employers Real Madrid, who drew 2-2 at Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Dortmund battled past Atletico Madrid to reach this stage, for what is their first semi-final appearance since 2013. PSG, meanwhile, fought back to brush aside Barcelona and clinched yet another Ligue 1 title at the weekend.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Borussia Dortmund vs PSG is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off time tonight on Wednesday May 1, 2024.

Dortmund vs PSG team news

Dortmund are set to have Mats Hummels fit for the first leg, despite the centre-back being forced off against RB Leipzig over the weekend. Emre Can and Ian Maatsen are both set to return after their domestic suspensions.

Marcel Sabitzer has been battling illness but has now returned to training, as has Donyell Malen. Both are in contention to face PSG.

As for PSG, Mbappe was a substitute over the weekend against Le Havre, but the Frenchman will come back into the starting lineup in Germany.

Presnel Kimpembe recently returned to individual training after a lengthy period on the sidelines, though this match will come too soon for the defender, while Layvin Kurzawa has also not travelled. Sergio Rico is the only other absentee for PSG.

Dortmund vs PSG prediction

PSG did not win any of their matches away from home in the group stage, but have responded by beating Real Sociedad and then Barcelona in Spain on their way to reaching the semi-finals.

Dortmund surely need to take a lead to France, but it is PSG who have the star quality in forward areas to make the difference. They can take control of this tie.

PSG to win, 2-1.
