Bournemouth 2-3 Tottenham LIVE! Bentancur goal - Premier League result, highlights and latest updates

Bournemouth vs Tottenham - LIVE!

Spurs head to the south coast looking to avoid a third successive league defeat having suffered somewhat of a wobble after earlier this season recorded their best ever start to a Premier League campaign. Spurs most recently suffered frustration in the Champions League after having a 95th-minute winner controversially ruled out by VAR.

A return to winning ways this afternoon will keep Spurs in third ahead of a tough test against Liverpool next weekend, and it will also see Bournemouth lose their third game on the bounce, bringing the club somewhat back down to earth after an initial improvement in results under caretaker boss Gary O’Neil.

Bournemouth are, perhaps remarkably, aiming to climb into the top half with a positive result this afternoon. Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Tottenham correspondent Dan Kilpatrick at the Vitality Stadium.

AFC Bournemouth 2 - 3 Tottenham Hotspur FC

Thanks for joining us!

18:57 , Marc Mayo

Tottenham recovered from 2-0 down to earn a dramatic stoppage-time win over Bournemouth in a comeback which will do nothing to convince Antonio Conte he is mistaken about the quality and depth of his squad.

Recap the action with our match report!

Full-time!

16:55 , Alex Young

95min: They’ve done it! A massive win.

GOAL!

16:51 , Alex Young

92min: Bentancur has won it in injury time!

A corner is whipped in, Bentancur misses the first attempt and then sweeps home past Travers!

16:49 , Alex Young

90min: Five mins added on.

16:41 , Alex Young

84min: Gil is on for Spurs for the final minutes. He did well on Wednesday...

16:37 , Alex Young

80min: It’s all Spurs as we head into the final 10 minutes. Bournemouth clinging on.

16:36 , Alex Young

77min: So close!

Son does very well to latch onto Dier’s low cross with a half-volley at goal, which Travers does brilliantly to push away.

Dan Kilpatrick at Vitality Stadium

16:33 , Alex Young

“Bournemouth are in danger of falling apart here and Spurs will be sensing blood, with all the momentum on their side. The leveller came through another set piece, which has been such a strength for Conte’s side this season.”

GOAL!

16:31 , Alex Young

73min: Spurs are level!

Finally a corner comes to something as Davies heads home at the back post, with Travers in no-mans land.

16:26 , Alex Young

67min: Spurs really pushing for the equaliser but Bournemouth holding firm.

Another corner, another simple clearance.

16:21 , Alex Young

62min: Perisic does get on, replacing Emerson.

Just under half an hour to play.

16:17 , Alex Young

59min: That triple sub has been scrapped, with Dier and Bentancur coming on for Sanchez and Bissouma. Sessegnon was due to go off for Perisic, but that goal changed Conte’s mind.

GOAL!

16:17 , Alex Young

57min: As Conte prepares to make a triple sub, Sessegnon reduces the deficit!

A superb throughball from Hojbjerg and Sessegnon slots home across the keeper.

Fine goal.

Dan Kilpatrick at Vitality Stadium

16:11 , Alex Young

“Spurs staring at a third straight league defeat and a crisis of sorts, particularly with Liverpool looming next weekend. Clearly the schedule is a factor but far too many individuals have been below par so far this afternoon.”

GOAL!

16:08 , Alex Young

50min: It's Moore again!

Smith whips in a superb cross and Moore thumps home a header.

16:06 , Alex Young

48min: First sight of goal for Spurs since the break sees Davies let fly from 25 yards, which whistles wide.

16:02 , Alex Young

46min: ...and we’re back under way.

16:02 , Alex Young

Lucas Moura is on for Skipp at the break.

15:56 , Alex Young

Not for the first time this season, Spurs’ final ball is letting them down. Time for Gil?

Half-time!

15:49 , Alex Young

48min: Travers denies Son in the last action of the half. You’d feel another five minutes and Spurs may have got their goal.

15:47 , Alex Young

46min: A well-worked move sees Kane slip in Skipp to fire across goal, but Bournemouth clear.

15:46 , Alex Young

45min: Two mins added on.

15:44 , Alex Young

43min: Bournemouth have done well to navigate this trickier spell.

The game is more even as we head into the break.

15:39 , Alex Young

39min: Spurs are turning the screw, now. Kane almost feeds Son at the back post with a fine drilled cross.

15:37 , Alex Young

37min: Off the post! Son’s cross is diverted onto the post by a Bournemouth defender.

Suddenly getting closer.

15:36 , Alex Young

36min: Travers is forced into a save!

Smart work between Emerson and Skipp on the edge of the area releases the latter to be denied.

15:34 , Alex Young

34min: Lloris has to be quick off his line to beat Moore to the ball and avoid what looked a certain goal.

Spurs defence all over the place.

15:33 , Alex Young

32min: A fifth Spurs corner, and again Bournemouth handle it with ease.

15:31 , Alex Young

30min: Half an hour gone and still no shot on target from Spurs, despite largely bossing proceedings.

Dan Kilpatrick at Vitality Stadium

15:26 , Alex Young

“It’s a lovely, composed finish by Moore by Spurs’ defence was all over the place. Lenglet and Davies were both beaten to the ball and Sanchez was dragged out of position in trying to cover, leaving Moore unmarked. Romero and Dier are watching on from the dugout.”

15:26 , Alex Young

25min: Almost 2-0!

Spurs don’t deal with a cross from the right at all, allowing Moore to dive in with an attempt which Emerson does well to block.

GOAL!

15:24 , Alex Young

22min: It's been all Spurs but the hosts take the lead through Moore!

A fantastic counter sees Spurs suddenly chasing shadows, Solanke spins to release Tavernier and Moore sweeps home.

15:20 , Alex Young

19min: It’s all Spurs still but Travers is yet to make a save.

15:17 , Alex Young

16min: Yet another Spurs corner, again taken by Son, which Bournemouth head clear.

Really need to do more with these chances.

Dan Kilpatrick at Vitality Stadium

15:14 , Alex Young

“Spurs have taken control of the game after a fast start by the Cherries and are patiently probing for an opening. Conte applauds his side after a long passing move ends with Bissouma bursting into the box but overhitting a cross.”

15:12 , Alex Young

12min: Bournemouth clear the corner.

15:12 , Alex Young

11min: That’s more like it from Spurs!

Kane is in quarter-back mode and drills a fine diagonal into the area towards Emerson, who wins another corner.

15:10 , Alex Young

8min: A couple of early corners for Spurs. Kane’s effort from the first in deflected behind, and Son plays the second short which ends up back with Lloris.

15:06 , Alex Young

4min: Spurs bossing possession but nothing in the way of a clear-cut chance yet.

I’d imagine this would be the order of the day.

Kick-off!

15:01 , Alex Young

1min: We’re up and running!

Here’s our man at the ground.

14:32 , Alex Young

A welcome sight for Spurs fans as Kulusevski, who is not in the matchday squad, is put through his paces ahead of the game.

Fit for Tuesday?

14:26 , Alex Young

It's good and bad news for Bournemouth. Dominic Solanke is fit to start after being forced off against West Ham.

Neto is out for the foreseeable with a hamstring injury, so Mark Travers deputises in goal.

14:22 , Alex Young

So, Antonio Conte does ring the changes ahead of the midweek clash with Marseille.

Eric Dier drops to the bench for the first time this season, and Rodrigo Bentancur for the second time. Cristian Romero is also not risked.

Oliver Skipp and Davinson Sanchez come in.

Bournemouth XI

14:06 , Alex Young

...and the hosts.

Tottenham XI

14:00 , Alex Young

Here’s how Spurs look.

13:55 , Alex Young

Team news is imminent.

Score prediction

13:49 , Alex Young

Spurs are struggling to create chances in recent games, though stepped up a few gears in the second half against Sporting when it mattered most. Bournemouth have also found goals hard to come by but it will be their defence most under pressure on Saturday.

Conte’s side should have enough to leave with all three points, though it may not be too pretty.

Spurs to win 2-0.

13:36 , Alex Young

Predicted Tottenham XI: Lloris; Sanchez, Dier, Lenglet; Emerson, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Sessegnon; Son, Kane.

Conte ready to rest players

13:27 , Alex Young

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has conceded he may have to rest players today due to next week's "final" with Marseille carrying greater importance.

A dramatic Champions League fixture with Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday saw Spurs denied a late winner after Harry Kane's stoppage-time effort was ruled out for offside, which means they need a point in France on Tuesday to guarantee a place in the knock-out stage.

Cristian Romero is expected to be one of a handful of players "protected" by the Italian, who knows they can make up for lost points domestically later in the campaign.

Rodrigo Bentancur is another who could be rested at the Vitality Stadium, especially with Oliver Skipp raring to go after recently returning to full fitness.

One player who will definitely start is Harry Kane, given the lack of alternatives with Dejan Kulusevski (hamstring) and Richarlison (calf) still injured.
