Bournemouth vs Tottenham - LIVE!
Tottenham’s inconsistent season continued as they were beaten 1-0 by Bournemouth on Thursday night, a match in which they were fortunate to not to suffer a heavier defeat.
Dean Huijsen headed in the opener in the first-half from a corner, taking advantage of some terrible defending to find himself free at the back post, and that proved good enough for the Cherries. There were chances for Bournemouth to make it a more comfortable night after the break. Evanilson was denied by VAR after an offside check, Ryan Christie struck against the outside of the post and Marcus Tavernier was among those to waste big opportunities.
The hosts were not punished as Tottenham failed to mount any sort of late charge, a miserable night capped by Ben Davies going off injured to further add to Ange Postecoglou’s defensive problems. Bournemouth leapfrogged Ange Postecoglou's visitors into ninth position following a deserved success.

Bournemouth earn another home scalp against a Spurs side who looked shot by the end.
The win over City was less than a fortnight ago but now a distant memory.
They badly need some players back (and probably some new ones in January, too) - and it's Chelsea on Sunday.
FT: Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham

Full-time at the Vitality Stadium and it’s a deserved win for Bournemouth.
They scored one, could have been six or seven.
Spurs terrible in defence, toothless in attack... not a great combination.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham

Even that feels generous to Spurs.

88 mins: Ball falls for Son on the edge of the box, takes too long to get a shot away and it’s charged down.
It’s crazy that Tottenham still have a chance to take something from this match. They could very easily have been hammered tonight.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
21:57 , Matt Verri
86 mins: Philip on and he’s immediately too strong for Kulusevski, just leaning him off the ball.
Brooks is also on and he leads the counter, winning a corner as Gray blocks the cross.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
21:54 , Matt Verri
83 mins: This is absurd, Bournemouth could have scored five since half-time.
Ouattara free at the back post, first effort is blocked. Comes back to him, drifts inside to work the space and then blazes over.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham

Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham

74 mins: Spurs are looking rattled again at the back, it’s been a really poor five minutes or so.
Porro and Forster waiting for each other to deal with a ball in behind, eventually the goalkeeper makes a pretty average clearance.
NO GOAL!
21:44 , Matt Verri
VAR taking a look, it’s very tight.
And Spurs are saved, Evanilson was just offside.
GOAL! Bournemouth 2-0 Tottenham | Evanilson 72'

Bournemouth double their lead!
It’s a shambles from Spurs. Forster with the terrible pass out, Adams pounces on it.
He should score, but Forster makes the save. Bounces back off him, into Evanilson’s path and he turns it in.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
21:41 , Matt Verri
69 mins: Bournemouth with a couple of corners in quick succession - give away a free-kick from both of them.
Will be a relief to that Spurs defence, judging by how they’ve dealt with some of them.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
21:37 , Matt Verri
66 mins: Off the post!
Christie with men either side as he drives at the Spurs defence, goes by himself and his effort from the edge of the area flicks off the outside of the post.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham

Porro fires a shot back in and it’s a sharp stop from the Bournemouth goalkeeper.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
21:34 , Matt Verri
62 mins: Davies has gone down off the ball, his night is over. Another defensive injury the last thing Spurs need.
Porro is on to replace him, so Gray shifts inside to centre-back.
Dan Kilpatrick at the Vitality Stadium
21:32 , Matt Verri
Nearly a remarkably quick impact by Son but he had definitely strayed offside there.
The last time he was rested (I think), he came off the bench to score twice against Leicester under Antonio Conte.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
21:31 , Matt Verri
60 mins: Maddison has to score... doesn’t score!
Turns in the box, he’s free six yards out but he somehow scoops it wide of the far post.
Postecoglou looks stunned.
GOO... OFFSIDE!
21:30 , Matt Verri
Son has the ball in the net almost immediately after coming on... offside.
Christie loses it in midfield and Spurs break. Kulusevski’s shot is parried out, Son turns it in from close range but the flag is up.
VAR confirms that decision.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
21:28 , Matt Verri
57 mins: First Spurs change of the night.
Son is on for Sarr, taking the armband from Maddison. Kulusevski will shift into midfield, Johnson out to the right wing.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham

Davies was closest at the back post.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham

Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
21:23 , Matt Verri
52 mins: Best Spurs move in a long time.
Maddison with a nice flick, Johnson slides in Udogie on the overlap and he wins another corner for the visitors.
Swung in to the near post, Kepa somehow has to end up at nearly full stretch to keep it out.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
21:21 , Matt Verri
50 mins: Forster gets clever as he flicks the ball away from Evanilson. Not sure Spurs fans will be desperate to see too much more of that.
Bissouma lets fly from 25 yards out, deflected behind for a corner.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
21:20 , Matt Verri
48 mins: Maddison wins a cheap free-kick off Adams, as he looked to turn into space.

Dan Kilpatrick at the Vitality Stadium

Spurs started well, conceded a really soft goal from a corner and have since struggled to regain control.
Bournemouth are set up to counter and Evanilson is causing Dragusion and Davies big problems.
HT: Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
21:01 , Matt Verri
That’s half-time.
Bournemouth deservedly in front, they’ve had the best chances and have the lead through Huijsen.
Spurs have never really looked like scoring.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
21:00 , Matt Verri
45 mins: Just the one minute added on.
Postecoglou’s face would suggest the 15 after that are not going to be much fun for the Spurs players.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
20:59 , Matt Verri
44 mins: Great save!
Kerkez on the overlap, flashes the ball across the face of goal.
Tavernier with the header, Forster reacts well to get down and push it away.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
20:58 , Matt Verri
43 mins: Tavernier has options - decides to choose one of his own and goes for goal from 25 yards out. Groans as it’s immediately charged down.
Bournemouth back on the attack, as Evanilson seems to trip Davies as he gets in behind but the referee waves plays on.
Thankfully for Spurs, it comes to nothing.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
20:55 , Matt Verri
40 mins: Maddison whips a corner to the near post, Johnson is completely free but doesn’t make any contact with the header.
That was a decent chance - Johnson not particularly high up on the list of players Spurs would have wanted there, you’d imagine.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
20:52 , Matt Verri
37 mins: It’s got a bit scrappy, which will suit Bournemouth just fine.
But here is Kulusevski, as Kerkez jumps out but doesn’t take the ball.
Not great from the winger, low ball towards the six-yard box easily cut out.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
20:49 , Matt Verri
34 mins: Sarr bursting down the right.. and dragging Kerkez over.
Frustrating period for Tottenham, haven’t really been able to build any real pressure. Bournemouth fairly comfortable.
GOOO... OFFSIDE!
20:46 , Matt Verri
Bournemouth briefly think they have a second, but the flag is up.
Evanilson slides a pass through to Tavernier, who fires the finish past Forster.
He was a yard or so offside, doesn’t count.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
20:45 , Matt Verri
30 mins: Decent spell for Bournemouth, who continue to carry a real threat on the counter.
Semenyo’s shot is blocked, before Kluivert whips in a cross from out wide... ball has just gone out of play.
Spurs not looking convincing at the back. At all.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
20:43 , Matt Verri
28 mins: Spurs win another corner, as Maddison is closed down by Kerkez in the box.
Spurs captain takes it himself, Semenyo is up in his own six-yard box to head it clear.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
20:39 , Matt Verri
24 mins: Long ball over the top of the Spurs defence, not sure Dragusin had that under control but fortunately for him there’s too much on the pass.
Evanilson was very nearly in there.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
20:36 , Matt Verri
21 mins: Advantage initially played, but the referee goes back to book Bissouma. Fairly cynical pull of the shirt on Kluivert.
That’s two Spurs players on a booking already.
Dan Kilpatrick at the Vitality Stadium
20:35 , Matt Verri
It's a really soft goal for Spurs to concede, Huijsen ghosting in at the far post completely unmarked.
The corner came after Dragusin lost focus and was pickpocketed by Evanilson, with Forster saving the Brazilian's effort.
Postecoglou won't want to hear it, but his side's weakness at set-pieces strikes again.
Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
20:33 , Matt Verri
19 mins: Maddison jinks into the box, wins Spurs a corner as they look for an immediate response. Kulusevski to take.
Drilled to the near post, Solanke got across his man but can’t direct the diving header.
GOAL! Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham | Dean Huijsen 17
20:31 , Matt Verri
A mess in the Tottenham box, Dragusin fails to clear and Evanilson forces Forster into a point-blank save. Corner.
Swung to the back post, Huijsen completely free... heads home!
That was so, so easy.
Bournemouth 0-0 Tottenham
20:30 , Matt Verri
14 mins: Johnson in space down the left for the first time, low cross into the middle is hacked away.
Evanilson has another chance to run at the Spurs defence, Dragusin hammers a backpass to Forster and he shanks a clearance basically sideways.
Bournemouth 0-0 Tottenham
20:26 , Matt Verri
11 mins: Zabarnyi takes too long on the ball, gets robbed by Solanke and the Spurs forward is away again.
Into the box, Smith closes him down and the shot is deflected behind for a corner.
Takes a couple of attempts, but Bournemouth clear and can break with Kluivert... brilliant challenge from Gray to stop him.
Dan Kilpatrick at the Vitality Stadium
20:24 , Matt Verri
Spurs are having more of the ball and look confident in possession but Bournemouth's forward are full of energy and will pose a threat on the counter.
Ben Davies is going to have to be careful after being booked for a professional foul on the lively Evanilson on the halfway line.
Bournemouth 0-0 Tottenham
20:23 , Matt Verri
8 mins: Let-off for Bournemouth.
Ball over the top, hosts don’t deal with it and Solanke is in. Should do better with it, but he blazes over under pressure from Huijsen.
Bournemouth 0-0 Tottenham
20:20 , Matt Verri
6 mins: Lovely ball from Maddison and Kulusevski is in plenty of space.
Gets the shot away with his right foot from just outside the area, straight at the goalkeeper.
Bournemouth 0-0 Tottenham
20:19 , Matt Verri
4 mins: Evanilson turns and is driving into space, only for Davies to come from behind and drag him to the floor.
As obvious a yellow card as you’ll see - not sure Davies needed to do it. He’ll be on a booking for the next 85 minutes.
Bournemouth 0-0 Tottenham
20:18 , Matt Verri
3 mins: Solanke drops deep to get on the ball, forced back towards the halfway line and he’s eventually bundled over by Adams, who was very keen in the press.
Too keen, but Bournemouth’s intent off the ball is clear already.

A torrential pre-match downpour has abated but it's a chilly evening here on the south coast.
Bournemouth have beaten Arsenal and Manchester City at home this season and there's no doubt this will be another big test for Ange Postecoglou's up-down side, who followed up their magnificent 4-0 win over City with a frustrating 1-1 home draw with Fulham last weekend.
The Spurs head coach, who is missing seven players through injury, illness and suspension, would like nothing more than a straightforward night, particularly with Chelsea lying in wait on Sunday.
Here we go!

Teams will be in the tunnel in the next couple of minutes.
Both of these teams capable of being brilliantly, bang average... and not much in between.
Goals at both ends feels like almost a certainty.

Bournemouth have been impressive on home soil this season.
They have already beaten Manchester City and Arsenal at the Vitality, while Chelsea only came away with a narrow one-goal win.
Would be a really impressive result for Spurs if they came away with three points.

Spurs ready for battle with Solanke replacement
19:30 , Matt Verri
Tottenham may have nabbed the hard-running Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth but the Cherries' capacity to press from the front remains undiminished after replacing the England international with Evanilson in the summer.
The Brazilian has only scored four times since joining the Cherries from Portuguese side Porto in a £40million deal, but the 25-year-old's modest goal-return belies his true impact.
In Saturday's 4-2 win over Wolves, Justin Kluivert made headlines by becoming the first player in Premier League history to score a hat-trick of penalties but he owed an enormous debt of gratitude to Evanilson, who won all three spot-kicks.
It was the first time a single player has won three penalties in a single game in the Premier League era, taking Evanilson’s tally of spot-kicks won this season to five.

Archie Gray makes his first Premier League start for Tottenham tonight.

Postecoglou backs Son to return to form
18:44 , Matt Verri
Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou has backed Heung-min Son to get back to his best and says he would be "wary" of doubting the South Korean.
Son has not scored from open play since September and missed chances in last week's draws with Roma and Fulham.
But Postecoglou compared Son to Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, who finished last season slowly but has been rejuvenated under Arne Slot this term.
"I think there were questions about Mo maybe a year or so ago," Postecoglou said. "I would be wary about [doubting Son]. Go for it! It might help me if you write him off.
“I don't get that sense. I still feel from a physical output and the quality he has and certainly from a mentality point of view, I haven't seen it.
“What I do know is, from my own experience, the end comes pretty quickly.
“It's not falling off a cliff but you find with a lot of great players that all of a sudden it's gone from bang to bang, it's not a slow deterioration.
“I don't see that in Sonny, I still think he's got a hell of a lot of quality and from a physical standpoint, the way he looks after himself, I don't see his abilities diminishing just due to the age factor at the moment. I don’t see that.”
Stage is set!

Postecoglou hints at transfer plans
18:26 , Matt Verri
Ange Postecoglou says there is “no doubt” Tottenham need reinforcements in attack in the coming transfer windows.
Postecoglou had just three fit, senior forwards available for Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Fulham but is hoping to welcome back Dominic Solanke tonigjt.
Richarlison and Wilson Odobert are sidelined long-term with hamstring injuries, while Mikey Moore is still recovering from a virus which Postecoglou insists is “nothing serious” and “not long-term”.
Asked if Spurs needed more firepower upfront Postecoglou said: “With Wilson it's long-term, hopefully Mikey by the turn of year will be back as well, but he's 17.
“With Richy it has been frustrating because I see the potential in him and to be fair when he's been fit he's always made an impact, for me anyway.
“I think back to the start of last year and when he came back into the team during the year he went on a scoring run.
“Even the little games he's played this year, he's made an impact. So, you know, that's what you kind of hold on to, but there's no doubt we need some bolstering in that front third over the next couple of transfer windows.
“Dom coming in has been great, but again we can't overload him either, because ultimately, you know, even if he stays fit and nothing happens, performance will invariably drop if his energy levels drop. So it's something we're aware of and need to plan for.”
Standard Sport prediction
18:17 , Matt Verri
On their day, Spurs can beat any team in the League but the injuries at the back do significantly weaken them.
A force to be reckoned with at home, Bournemouth will fancy their chances.
Bournemouth to win, 2-1.
Tottenham team news
18:08 , Matt Verri
Tottenham could have Dominic Solanke available tonight to face his former club.
Solanke was not involved in Sunday’s draw with Fulham due to illness, having been sent home on the morning of the match, but Ange Postecoglou confirmed the striker was set to train on Wednesday.
"Everyone from the weekend got through OK, Archie [Gray] got a knock but he's recovered well,” he said.
"Dom's due to train today, he's still not 100 per cent but he's definitely improved from the weekend. The other injured guys are inching closer but still not available."
Cristian Romero has not played since before the international break due to a toe issue and will not play on the south coast, albeit there is hope he will return to training later this week.
Predicted Tottenham XI: Forster; Spence, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Bissouma, Maddison, Kulusevski; Johnson, Son, Solanke
