Bradford Bulls confirm new signing as Brian Noble outlines key squad qualities
Bradford Bulls have signed back row forward Batley Liu from Sheffield Eagles. The 28-year-old joins the Championship club on a one-year deal from Sheffield Eagles, who confirmed the players release this Monday morning.
Lui, who was born in New Zealand and featured for Scotland at the 2022 Rugby League World Cup, played for West Wales Raiders and Dewsbury Rams before switching his allegiance to the Eagles, where he made 58 appearances and scored 20 tries in two and a half seasons.
But now it’s Bradford where Lui will try his luck, with the Bulls assembling a strong squad under Brian Noble, who replaced Eamon O’Carroll as the club’s head coach in the off-season. Noble revealed the player has been on the club’s radar for some time and will add significant competition for places, with the ability also to double up as a centre.

Noble said: "It makes us look a whole lot healthier; he can play back row and has played a lot in the centre too, so he adds that utility value. He will help us with the competition for places we need throughout the season.
"We’ve had our eye on Bayley for a couple of years, but it didn’t quite come to fruition, so when we were offered the opportunity this time around, we jumped in, and we have bolstered our squad.
"Like everyone in the squad, Bayley will have to fight for his place, but what I do know is he has a good offload and terrific feet for a big man. He is an exciting, big athlete that will add to the hard-working squad we have got, who have improved their fitness measurably and he will play his part throughout the season to help us be successful."
