Breaking: Aston Villa defender completes RB Leipzig transfer
Aston Villa right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic has joined RB Leipzig on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 19-year-old was free to leave Villa on loan from the start of last month and Leipzig also hold an option to buy him in the summer. Nedeljkovic had plenty of interest before Leipzig made their proposal to bring him to Germany.
Leipzig are currently sitting in fourth place in the Bundesliga and are hoping to once again qualify for the Champions League. Nedeljkovic played over 20 minutes of Villa’s 3-2 victory at the Red Bull Arena back in December and clearly made an impression.

Signed from Crvena zvezda in January 2024, Nedeljkovic then spent the second half of last season on loan at the Serbian side before linking up with Unai Emery’s squad in pre-season.
After impressing Emery, he was given the chance to prove himself in the first half of the season, but was used sparingly after August. He had featured off the bench in the first three league games of the campaign against West Ham, Arsenal and Leicester City, but only made two more league appearances against Newcastle and Wolves.
He featured in two of Villa’s Champions League league phase fixtures and also at the end of the FA Cup third round win over West Ham. Nedeljkovic also started both Carabao Cup games against Wycombe Wanderers and Crystal Palace earlier in the season.
At international level, the defender earned his first call-up to the senior Serbia national team in September and has been included in their last three squads, playing in each of their six games.
