WARRINGTON Rylands get a chance to extend their superb form this evening.

And the run Neil Reynolds’ side are on is one even the Northern Premier League Premier Division’s top sides are struggling to match.

Blues make the short trip to Prescot Cables tonight having extended their unbeaten run in league football to 10 matches over the weekend by beating Matlock Town 2-1 at Gorsey Lane.

As such, they remain unbeaten in 2025 – the only team in their division yet to lose in the new year – and their form since they last lost in the league more than two months ago is bettered by only third-placed Ashton United and runaway league leaders Macclesfield.

Following their last league defeat against Ilkeston Town on November 23, Rylands were only outside of the relegation places on goal difference but they go into tonight’s game sitting ninth, nine points adrift of the top five but with still 15 games to play.

Tonight’s hosts Prescot are battling to stay in the division having won promotion last season – they are 16th, two points clear of the bottom four.

The game was meant to take place on New Year’s Day but was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Cables’ Hope Street home ground.

New loan signing reunites with Warrington Rylands boss

Ahead of tonight's game, Rylands have confirmed a new addition to their squad.

They have signed winger Dontai Gabidon on a month's loan from league leaders Macclesfield, for whom he has appeared 11 times this season, and their new man is available to make his debut this evening.

Gabidon is familiar with Reynolds having played 75 times for him during a spell at FC United of Manchester, scoring 19 goals in that time.
