Mikel Arteta provides key Arsenal update on Kai Havertz ahead of Brighton clash
Kai Havertz has been passed fit to play for Arsenal ahead of the game with Brighton. Mikel Arteta had to deal with an illness bug, which affected the team for their win over Brentford on Wednesday.
Arteta faced the media ahead of the trip to the south coast. As usual, he was asked for the latest team news, considering that it was more than just Havertz understood to have been under the weather.
Asked whether the German will be back Arteta said: "Yeah, I think so, yeah."

He also gave a positive update on Raheem Sterling too. "I think he's starting to do some stuff on the pitch. Let's see how he progresses next week."
However, Havertz and Sterling may face some tough competition when it comes to breaking into the Arsenal side again with Gabriel Jesus having now scored six in his last four games. Granted Havertz, started the last game in midfield, but Mikel Merino also scored in the last clash creating plenty of competition for the role.
This is certainly a good problem for Arteta to have going into a very heavy January schedule. With Bukayo Saka out for the foreseeable, everyone needs to step up.
