Mathys Tel is now a Tottenham Hotspur player after a dramatic turnaround on transfer deadline day. The talented attacker makes the move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from Bayern Munich on a loan deal, which includes an option to buy.

Following a frustrating first half of the campaign at the Allianz Arena with limited opportunities in Vincent Kompany's team, Tel was given the green light to depart Bavaria. Amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, it appeared last week that Tottenham had got their man after agreeing on a £50million deal with the Bundesliga giants.

However, Tel was to turn the move down and that left Tottenham's bid to sign a new attacker up in the air. Monday afternoon would see the ex-Rennes man make a U-turn, though, following a call from Ange Postecoglou, and he has now signed on the dotted line in north London until the end of the season. Spurs can make the move permanent in the summer with an option to buy for €55million (£45.7million). If Spurs do take up the option, Tel will sign a six-year contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The arrival of Tel boosts Postecoglou's attacking options heading into the second half of the season. Mainly operating from the left-wing, the starlet also has experience of playing from the right flank and also through the middle as a striker.

Tel's Tottenham switch comes at the perfect time as the Lilywhites have two huge games on the calendar over the coming days as they take on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup and Aston Villa in the FA Cup. The attacker's first Premier League game for Spurs could come against Manchester United on Sunday, February 16.

Tel joins Antonin Kinsky and Kevin Danso in making the move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during the winter market.
