Aston Villa will be without their head coach on the touchline for their next Premier League match after Unai Emery was booked for the third time this season in the game with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Emery, the Gunners' boss before Mikel Arteta, picked ujp a yellow card at his old stamping ground of the Emirates Stadium - his third of the campaign - and will miss Villa's clash at home to West Ham next weekend as a result.

There was a touch of irony about the yellow card, given the yellow cards (and reds) Arsenal have received so far this season in the Premier League. After a decision went against Arsenal, Emery booted the ball away and was duly shown a yellow card by referee Chris Kavanagh, who was the man in the middle to send off Declan Rice for two yellow cards - the second for kicking the ball away.

Leandro Trossard also suffered a similar fate when kicking the ball away against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Arsenal were leading in both of those matches but would go on to draw both after the reds cards - 1-1 with Brighton and 2-2 with City.

The Gunners led 2-0 against Villa on Saturday night thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz, but were pegged back to 2-2 by Youri Tielemans' first Premier League goal of the season and then a strike from boyhood Arsenal fan Ollie Watkins.
