Brendan Galloway makes Plymouth Argyle pledge after surgery
Defender Brendan Galloway has promised he is going to do everything he can 'to come back better and stronger' for Plymouth Argyle from the leg injury which has ended his season.
Galloway posted a message on his Instagram account, which included a photo of him in a hospital bed, after having an operation. The exact details of his injury, which he sustained in the closing stages of the 1-1 draw against Oxford United at Home Park on January 14, have not been disclosed.
It has been another injury-hit season for Galloway, who signed a new two-year contract with Argyle last summer. He was also ruled out for a couple of months by ankle ligament damage, which he suffered while on international duty with Zimbabwe in October.

As a result, the defender has been restricted to 13 starts and two substitute appearances for the Pilgrims during 2024/25. Galloway said on Instagram about his latest setback: "Gutted with the injury. Surgery went well. Going to do everything to come back better and stronger for this football club. Thank you for the kind messages."
Several past and present Argyle team-mates replied to his post, as well as former world cruiserweight boxing champion Tony Bellew, who is an avid supporter of Everton, one of Galloway's former clubs. Bellew said: "Get well soon champ" and included a couple of blue hearts.
Argyle club captain Joe Edwards, who is closing in on a return from a long-term hamstring injury, said: "We're all with you my man" while former Pilgrims' player Conor Grant replied: "Speedy recovery brother! Strong mindset as always."
Ex-Argyle goalkeeper Michael Cooper, now at Sheffield United, said: "Speedy recovery Bren" while Mickel Miller, who left the Pilgrims last summer and joined Huddersfield Town, replied: "Back before you know it."
Galloway joined Argyle in the summer of 2021 and when fit has impressed with his playing ability but injuries have limited him to 65 starts and 19 substitute appearances during his time at the club.
