Brentford suffer two huge injury blows before Arsenal Premier League clash
Brentford have been handed two major injury concerns just a few days before facing Arsenal in Premier League action. Thomas Frank is already dealing with numerous fitness absentees and now goalkeeper Mark Flekken along with Ben Mee have become the latest players added to his list of concerns.
After losing both Ethan Pinnock, Kristoffer Ajer and Sepp van den Berg to injury in recent weeks, Frank was forced to deploy a makeshift back four against Brighton on Friday evening with Keane Lewis-Potter in at full-back. The one constant at the back has been Flekken, but that is now in serious jeopardy.
Inside the first 30 minutes, Matt O'Riley, Carlos Baleba and Julian Enciso forced him into three big saves with one of those made using his leg and moments later he was captured sat on the grass in some discomfort.

After receiving treatment, the Netherlands international attempted to continue but fell to his haunches once again with Hakon Valdimarsson subbed on in his place to make his Premier League debut. The Seagulls continued dominating but Brentford were able to get in at half-time level.
While the Bees are still in a position to pick up points on the south coast, Frank will be concerned about how a potential absence for Flekken impacts his team and he could also be without Mee. In the 77th minute, the experienced defender hobbled off and was replaced by 19-year-old Kim Ji-soo.
If both are set to miss a period of action, the first task for Frank will be navigating a clash against Arsenal without his No.1, four centre-backs unavailable and thus a total of 11 stars out of action. As for Mikel Arteta, Bukayo Saka, Ben White, Raheem Sterling and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all guaranteed to miss out with differing injury problems.
Arteta has seen his side plagued by absences this season and just as he was starting to get bodies back with Gabriel, Riccardo Calafiori and Declan Rice all overcoming minor issues, Saka tore his hamstring and will likely miss a number of months.
