Brentford without six players for Aston Villa clash as Thomas Frank reveals fresh blow
Brentford will be without six players for their trip to Aston Villa, including influential midfielder Mathias Jensen.
The Denmark international suffered a hamstring injury in the win over Leicester City last time out and has been ruled out of Wednesday night's clash at Villa Park. He made 32 Premier League appearances for the Bees last season and started their last three games after returning from a calf injury in October.
“Mathias Jensen unfortunately got a minor hamstring injury,” Frank revealed in his pre-match press conference. “He will be out for Wednesday and he’s unlikely for Saturday [against Newcastle United]. More than that, I don’t know exactly.”

Meanwhile, defender Kristoffer Ajer has missed the last five Premier League fixtures due to a foot injury – and the midweek visit to Villa Park will come too soon for him.
“Ajer is on the pitch,” said Frank. “He is progressing and trained with the team Sunday and today. But it is too early for tomorrow.”
Gustavo Nunes, Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey and Josh Dasilva remain sidelined for Brentford, who head to Villa Park winless away from home in the league this season.
Only Southampton - who Villa host on Saturday - have only collected one point on the road. The two sides have shipped a combined 25 league goals between them away from home so far this term.
Villa are unbeaten in their last four league games against Brentford, having been winless in their previous eight.
