After their four-match unbeaten run in the Championship came to an end last weekend, Bristol City's focus now turns to Wednesday night's clash with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

While Liam Manning was left frustrated by his side's defeat to Coventry City at the CBS Arena on Saturday afternoon, the intense nature of the Championship means that the Robins won't have to wait too long to try and get back to winning ways.

Danny Rohl's Owls currently sit one place behind the Reds in the Championship table, with only goal difference separating the two teams. Both sides are four points adrift of the top six and while they are outsiders in the race for promotion, they have aspirations of finishing in the play-off places.

Wednesday come into this week's clash having failed to win any of their last three matches in all competitions. Most recently, the Owls were beaten 3-0 by Daniel Farke's Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon as they missed the chance to leapfrog City.

When Bristol City welcomed Rohl's side to Ashton Gate earlier this term, the two teams played out an unremarkable 0-0 draw. The Robins had the better chances but were unable to make them count in what turned out to be a frustrating night for the home crowd.

Since then, an awful lot of football has been played and a lot has changed at both clubs. Hopefully, City can go a step better this time and claim all three points.

Ahead of Wednesday night's game, Bristol Live spoke to Joe Crann from the Sheffield Star to get the latest insight from Hillsborough...

How would you evaluate Wednesday's campaign so far?

Where do we start? From a football perspective it's been good, going from almost certain relegation prior to Danny Rohl's arrival last season to being in with a sniff of the play-offs this time around is a pretty remarkable achievement, to be honest. But the events of the last few weeks have been a bit deflating for everybody with the manager linked to Southampton, talk of a breakdown in communications between him and the chairman, Dejphon Chansiri, and then a fans' forum that wasn't well received and ended with confirmation that Shea Charles had been recalled. As Josh Windass recently put it, 'a typical day at Sheffield Wednesday'.

Is Wednesday's defence ready for a play-off push? They've conceded more goals than any other side in the top half.

It's tough to say, really, but ultimately they can't keep conceding at the rate they are doing and expect to get promoted. They've got an excellent record when it comes to recovering results from losing positions, but that's not a sustainable way to go about things over the course of a full season. Injuries haven't helped, that's for sure, but there is definitely a clamour for a big centre back to come through the door this month to try and solve the problem.

Just how good a job has Danny Rohl done since arriving at Hillsborough?

Wunderbar. The turnaround that Rohl has overseen at Wednesday has genuinely been incredible, and it feels like he managed to eke out every last drop of the team last year to keep them in the Championship. He's been roundly praised by lots of people since arriving, but it's the praise from the players that sticks out the most with a couple of really experienced lads saying that he's the best they've ever worked with.

He might possibly be here for a good time rather than a long time, but there is definitely the hope that he can achieve something before that dreaded day comes where an offer comes in that's too good to refuse.

Who are the key players Bristol City fans should be looking out for?

Barry Bannan is the kingpin to everything at Wednesday and has been for years and years, so he's one that's always worth keeping an eye on, but if Shea Charles plays what could be his last game for the club, he's another one that will be key. The Southampton midfielder is a fantastic footballer who is destined for big things, and when he plays well Wednesday tend to do the same. Lastly, Josh Windass is having one of the best seasons of his career in the Championship and has shown time and time again the sort of quality he's got in his locker - he can be a real handful.

Do you have a score prediction?

I'm going head over heart possibly here, but 2-1 Wednesday after Bristol City score first - that tends to be the way these days!
