Max O'Leary - 6

Didn't feel like he had an awful lot to do. Perhaps could have reacted quicker to the deflection before Andi Weimann's goal but that would have been asking a lot. Made some important stops in the second half.

Luke McNally - 7

Had his hands full for much of the game against the tricky Tyrhys Dolan and for the most part dealt with him well as he won several duels both on the ground and in the air. As he often does, carried a threat from set-pieces and could have come away with an assist on another day.

Rob Dickie - 6

Was perhaps guilty of playing Andi Weimann on for Blackburn's leveller and had a few poor moments in possession as well. Did get the better of his man on several occasions in the air but by no means his best of performances in City colours, however, he did what he needed to get the three points over the line.

Zak Vyner - 5

Had a couple of really shaky moments on the ball that nearly cost the Robins as his distribution seemed a little bit rushed compared to his usual calm self. Was clearly frustrated with his own performance as he was rather emotional on the pitch whenever he misplaced a pass.

Haydon Roberts - 6

Returned to the starting line-up in place of Ross McCrorie at left wing-back and did what was expected of him. Had a couple of good moments on the ball and battled away out of possession to try and keep his opposite number quiet wherever possible.

Jason Knight - 8

The City skipper was in the wars throughout the game and was on the receiving end of one or two big tackles in the opening 45 minutes. Didn't stop him from getting as stuck in as ever as he covered every blade of grass on the Ashton Gate turf as he does week in and week out. When he's playing like this, he's a joy to watch.

Max Bird (off for Joe Williams, 74') - 6

It didn't feel like the former Derby County man saw an awful lot of the ball in the opening 45 minutes. Midway through the second half, he deserved an assist for his brilliant lofted through ball into Nahki Wells, but somehow, the Bermudain's chipped shot was cleared off of the line.

George Tanner (off for Mark Sykes, 60') - 6

Didn't seem to have an awful lot to do down his flank in the first half, but when he was called into action he stepped up and performed. Looks more dangerous in possession than he has done in the past as well and was more willing to move forward on the ball. A solid hour's work.

Anis Mehmeti (off for George Earthy, 74') - 6

Restored to the starting line-up in place of Yu Hirakawa who dropped to the bench and while he got in some good areas, he couldn't quite find that moment of quality. A few smart pieces of footwork that fans will be used to, but could have and perhaps should have added to his tally for the season.

Scott Twine - 8

You can almost set your watch by Twine's goals at Ashton Gate at the moment. For the second home game in a row, the attacking midfielder found the net with an excellent free-kick early on and provided some real energy just behind the frontline throughout. When he plays well, so do the Robins and that was case today.

Sinclair Armstrong (off for Nahki Wells, 60') - 6

Handed his first start since December's draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light and was a constant threat. Held the ball up well at times and looked really dangerous when running in behind. His turn of pace won City the free-kick that Twine curled home in the first half. A good return to Ashton Gate action.

Substitutes:

Nahki Wells - 7

Couldn't have come closer to scoring quickly after coming on when his chipped effort was cleared off of the line. Made up for it with a calm finish with 13 minutes to play as he slotted into the back of the net.

Mark Sykes - 6

Made some important interventions out of possession while also carving out some good crosses.

Joe Williams - 7

Didn't have an awful lot to do in his cameo, but his ball for Wells' winner couldn't have been weighted any better.

George Earthy - 6
